Abstract

Awareness and discovery of body indicates the birth of modern society, thus the Renaissance period is often defined as the starting point by body history researchers. However, if we trace back to Medieval Western Europe from this perspective, we can also find a group of holy women showed great interest on body in 11 ~ 13 century. Prof. Wang will reappear holy womens cognitive on body with images, and their trying to get rid of the eve image under male religious discourse disciplined, as well as the meaning of how to re-construct female body.

Abstract

By analyzing the public performance nature through holy womens mysterious illusion, Prof. Wang will explain the specificity of their illusion and their contribution to illusion in the middle and late period of middle ages, as well as "reappear" holy womens efforts to obtain identity based on body.

Abstract

As effective analysis tools, feminism and sexism have excellent achievements in the Medieval Western Europe study, but also leads to over emphasis on sexual antagonism, thus ignores bisexual cooperation in the real society inadvertently or deliberately. Prof. Wang will reappear womens religious writing in the middle and late period of Middle Ages, investigate gender cooperative phenomena and explore their own cognition of writing.

 

Profile of Prof. Wang Li-hong

Dr. Wang, graduated from Fudan University, is a professor at College of Humanities, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Representative works include Holy Womens Body Concept and Identity in Prosperous Age of Medieval Western Europe (Historical Research); Development of Nun Regulations in Medieval Western Europe: Discussion on St. Clair Repair Compliance, Ciro Dodd the Barbarian: Analysis of Gregory's Historical Narrative Ethics (Journal of Fudan University). Salic Law and Frank Early Society (History Teaching and Research). Famous works: Knights: Western European Noble Battled with Song; College World History.
