From September 12,2019, Robert Norman Swanson, a famous medieval historian expert, came to our school as a professor at the Institute of Higher Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences and Research Centre for Social History of Medicine of Shaanxi Normal University.

Professor Swanson's series of courses and lectures provide a reference for the curriculum construction of our university and the scientific research of teachers and students.The curriculum restores the whole picture of the understanding of body and soul in the Middle Ages, combines medicine with culture and social factors, and more closely conforms to the academic frontier of medical and social history, and helps to promote the development of humanities and social sciences in our school. According to the agreement, Prof. Swanson will continue to conduct research and teaching as a special professor at the Institute of Higher Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences in our university for the next three years.
